With Ronald Araújo renewing his deal at the Camp Nou until 2031, it has put the need for a centre-back on the backburner.

Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez are both highly-rated but Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen could depart in the near future.

Due to the uncertainty around a couple of player’s futures, the Blaugrana look set to sign a centre-back next summer transfer window.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah has been linked to Barca for some months, but as of now, he is yet to sign a pre-contract with the Catalonian side.

In a recent report, Sport have claimed that Deco could be looking at Nottingham Forest’s Murillo, along with other European giants.

It is stated that the Blaugrana have been watching the 22-year-old since his time at Corinthians and could have signed him before he joined the Premier League side for €12million.

As well as Barca, Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid have all been linked with a move for the Brazilian defender.

Even though the centre-back has recently signed a new deal at Forest, their owner reportedly does not rule out a big sale, with estimates that they could ask for around £100million to let him leave.

Murillo is definitely one for the future and it is very impressive that at his young age, he has adapted to life so well in Europe, especially in the Premier League.

If Nottingham Forest can get Champions League football next season then it will be very interesting to see how the 22-year-old performs against some of the best teams in the world.
