Barcelona face a nightmare scenario as arch-rivals Real Madrid surge ahead and prepare to hijack their flagship target.
Florentino Pérez and the Real Madrid board have been quietly keeping close tabs on developments, monitoring the situation until the ideal moment to strike arrived.
With Barcelona having spent months laying groundwork and holding direct talks to secure England’s premier teenage prospect, Real Madrid’s sudden intervention threatens to transform a long-standing Catalan recruitment drive into a fierce bidding war.
The top Barcelona target subject to Real Madrid’s dramatic hijack attempt is Manchester United teenage prodigy, JJ Gabriel, as reported by Transfer News Live.
While Barcelona had emerged as the initial frontrunners to land the highly rated attacker after he requested to leave Old Trafford, Real Madrid have actively entered the race with a lucrative proposal designed to hijack negotiations.
The decision-makers at the Santiago Bernabéu view the 16-year-old sensation as a generational talent who fits seamlessly into their strategy of locking down Europe’s most exceptional young superstars.
From Barcelona’s point of view, Real Madrid’s aggressive move presents an immense financial obstacle.
However, Barcelona’s ongoing wage-cap constraints and delicate economic context mean they risk being outmuscled if Real Madrid transform the chase into a pure financial contest.
While Barça hold the card of style-of-play alignment, Real Madrid offer massive financial stability and immediate integration into a world-class environment.
For Real Madrid, pulling off a hijack of this magnitude would serve as both a massive future sporting upgrade and a symbolic victory over their biggest rivals.

As negotiations intensify behind closed doors following the player’s 16th birthday, all eyes across Spanish football remain fixed on whether Real Madrid can successfully execute their hijack or if Barcelona can fight off their rivals to land their top target.
