Olympiacos are eyeing a loan move for a Barcelona star as the Greek club looks to add quality and experience to their squad.
Under manager Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco, the club has placed a strong focus on securing promising young prospects capable of contributing immediately while developing into future stars.
Following an impressive pre-season campaign where several new arrivals seized their opportunities, foreign suitors have taken notice and attempted to lure these rising starlets away on temporary arrangements.
According to reports from Diario Sport, Greek giants Olympiacos reached out directly to Barcelona to inquire about a season-long loan deal for the teenage attacker.
The 18-year-old Belgian winger subject to the Greek side’s approach is Jesse Bisiwu.
Bisiwu, who only joined Catalonia weeks ago from Club Brugge in a deal worth approximately €8.5 million, caught global attention after producing a standout pre-season performance that included a brilliant brace during a 5-2 friendly victory over FC Basel.
His raw pace, power, and high-level dribbling ability immediately prompted Olympiacos to test Barcelona’s resolve regarding a temporary departure.
However, Barcelona have firmly shut the door on any potential transfer away from Spotify Camp Nou.
Sporting director Deco personally drove the effort to secure Bisiwu on a long-term contract running until 2031, viewing him as a crucial piece of the club’s future hierarchy.
Rather than sending him on loan, the Catalan board and coaching staff firmly believe that daily integration alongside elite talent under Flick will accelerate his technical development far more effectively.
With a demanding multi-competition fixture schedule ahead, Flick considers Bisiwu an essential depth option across the attacking line.
Consequently, Olympiacos’ formal inquiry has been firmly turned down, as Barcelona remain committed to nurturing the young Belgian sensation in-house for the upcoming season.
