Even though Robert Lewandowski is set to sign a new deal with Barcelona, extending his stay until 2026, the club are actively looking for his long-term replacement.
Liverpool duo Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz have all been discussed as potential options, with the pair set to depart England this summer.
Another option that Deco likes is Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.
Unfortunately, the Swedish striker will not be cheap, with the Magpies expecting well over £100million, a figure that just is not possible for the Blaugrana.
RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is also a possibility but due to the state of the striker market in Europe, many other top clubs such as Liverpool and Arsenal have been looking at the Bundesliga forward.
However, there could be one player who would be the perfect fit for Hansi Flick’s fast-flowing attack.
Fichajes have reported that Barcelona have considered many options for Lewandowski’s heir.
However, one option that has ’emerged strongly’ is Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian forward is currently on loan in the Turkish Super Lig with Galatasaray.
This campaign he has lit up the division, scoring 20 goals and providing four assists.
Meanwhile, in the Europa League, he has scored six goals and provided one assist for the Aslanlar.
As the report claims, Napoli have already accepted that Osimhen will leave next season with many top clubs showing their interest.
Even though the 26-year-old’s contract ends in 2026, Napoli will reportedly not accept any less than €75-80million.
Due to this, it could put any potential deal in doubt as heading into the summer transfer window, Barcelona will have to sell players if they want to make a statement signing.
A swap deal is not off the table but these types of transfers are always difficult as you have to convince multiple players to uproot their stable life in Barcelona.
Time will only tell about this transfer but there seem to be better options out there that will not cost as much and would be easier to sign for the club.
