Manchester City is planning a summer blockbuster offer for one of Barcelona’s most valuable assets, with the Premier League side preparing to make an eye-watering €200 million offer.

Pep Guardiola has earmarked the Spanish international as his first-choice midfield signing and has doused interest in other high-profile targets, Fichajes report.

The 21-year-old has been irreplaceable at Camp Nou, combining creativity, calm, and tactical nous to control the game for the Catalan giants.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who has been a great fan of the midfielder’s technical quality and class decision-making for years, considers him the perfect replacement for Kevin De Bruyne’s creative burden.

Barcelona, however, considers their young phenomenon untouchable—a cornerstone of their current and future.

Pedri is the linchpin of this transfer war that is on the horizon.

Already, at this age, he has become one of Europe’s most well-rounded midfielders, and his ability to control the tempo and create space in defense makes him virtually impossible to replace for Barcelona.

The club’s financial woes are no secret, but to sell their generational player would be a sporting disaster, even for this amount of money.

Complicating Pedri’s getaway is his apparent unwillingness to depart.

The Canary Islands-born product has spoken of his loyalty to Barcelona, where he is the fans’ favorite and already tipped to become a future captain.

To top it all, with a contract until 2026 and a €1 billion release clause, Barcelona have all the negotiating advantages.

Guardiola’s pull and City’s foresight might lure most of the players, but this transfer looks mission-impossible—unless Pedri himself dictates his exit.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already dismissed any notion of selling Pedri, describing him as “non-negotiable.”

With the club making his long-term extension a priority, City’s record-breaking bid may not even receive a response.

As the summer window approaches, this soap opera will test Barcelona’s resolve, but all signs point to a firm rejection.

Pedri is the beating heart of Barcelona’s midfield for now, and Guardiola may have to look elsewhere.
