Barcelona’s forward line has been the most impressive part of their squad this season.
Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal have been firing on all cylinders.
Hansi Flick’s side have already scored 71 goals in La Liga alone, with second being Real Madrid on 59.
Despite this impressive outlet up top, reports keep emerging linking the Blaugrana with forwards.
Alexander Isak is set to be Deco’s favourite but with his reported fee being well over £100million, any deal could be impossible for the Catalonian side.
Another option is Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, who has Barca been heavily linked with over the last couple of weeks.
In a recent article, Fichajes have claimed that Liverpool and Barcelona are set to target Lille’s Jonathan David this summer.
The Canadian forward is set to leave the French side in July after being unable to an agreement over a new contract.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool sees David as a perfect striker to replace Darwin Nunez, who looks set to leave and has even been linked to Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Barca are aware that Lewandowski is not getting younger and signing someone entering their prime would be a welcomed addition in the long run.
So far this campaign, the 25-year-old has scored 23 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions.
Despite being Lille’s best player, the Canadian striker is only on €37k per week, so if some of Europe’s biggest clubs are looking at him then he will be set for a large salary increase.
Another potential stumbling block for the Blaugrana would be the signing-on fee that David would demand due to him joining as a free agent.
It would be very likely that Liverpool could offer the 25-year-old much more game time as well, something which might be a dealbreaker for the Lille striker.
Time will tell but if Barca could sign someone of his quality for free then it would be a massive boost.
