Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing a Barcelona player this summer, with Mikel Arteta viewing him as the perfect addition to his squad.

The Gunners have set their sights on several La Liga stars, with new Sporting Director Andrea Berta’s extensive links to the Spanish league playing a crucial role in the club’s transfer plans.

As the Premier League season winds down, Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad further in preparation for the next campaign, particularly in midfield.

With Arteta’s tactical demands and the club’s ambition to maintain their strong performances, adding quality to the midfield is a key priority.

Among the targets, one player who has emerged as a top option is Marc Casado, the 21-year-old Barcelona midfielder, as per Fichajes.

Marc Casado has made a significant impact at Camp Nou this season, earning a regular starting spot and contributing both defensively and offensively.

Known for his tackling ability, he has also ranked highly for assists per 90 minutes, making him a well-rounded option for Arteta’s midfield.

However, securing a deal for Marc Casado could prove challenging.

Barcelona are reportedly unwilling to let him go, given his importance to the team.

Furthermore, Casado’s £83m release clause could be another major obstacle, making a transfer difficult for Arsenal, especially considering the club’s budget.

Despite these hurdles, Arsenal’s interest remains strong, and Arteta is hopeful that the midfielder could be a great fit for his system.

With doubts surrounding Thomas Partey’s future at the club, as he holds talks with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona for a potential free transfer, Casado could provide an ideal replacement.

But given Barcelona’s reluctance to sell, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to make a move for the talented youngster this summer.
