Todibo’s imminent move set to profit Barcelona

Former Barcelona centre-back Jean Claire Todibo is set for a big move to the English Premier league and the Catalan side is set to benefit from his sale.

The French defender who is currently playing his football at OGC NICE in the French league has attracted interested across Europe with his performances over the years. Contributing to his team success, with the French side sitting top of the league ahead of notable names like PSG and Lille

Barcelona bought Todibo for a fee of €1M from Toulouse, he was then loaned out to Schalke 04 and Benfica for a fee of €1.5M and €2M respectively.  While Todibo was unable to secure a place in the  first team squad at Barça , he secured a move back to his homeland for €8.5M, with the Catalan side retaining 20% of any future sale.

With the interest of teams such as Manchester United and Chelsea . It is believed Todibo would leave the French side for a decent fee of about €40M, which could see Barcelona earn a further €8M from his sale, bringing the total profit made from Todibo over the years to a sum of €19M.

While Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s (owner of OGC Nice) aim to acquire a minority stake at Manchester United is yet to be concluded, a deal with the British billionaire would place the Manchester Club in pole position in securing the services of the French centre-back.
