As a result, Barcelona faced two prospective quarter-final opponents in Borussia Dortmund and Lille. Barcelona will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarterfinals after the Germans defeated Lille in the last 16.
After a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Round-of-16 encounter in Germany last week, Dortmund won 2-1 in the second leg today, completing a 3-2 aggregate victory and advancing to the quarterfinals against Barcelona.
The two teams have already faced off in the UCL competition this season, with Barcelona winning 3-2 in an entertaining game at Signal Iduna Park in December.
