Gerard Pique delivered his thoughts on the Kings League’s portfolio and football’s biggest prize, the Ballon d’Or, from Paris.

The ex-Barça star also highlighted the Kings League’s World Cup final, while revealing they would also plan a North American edition by February 2026.

Piqué also explored his journey from player to entrepreneur, saying he enjoys the expansion of the Kings League, which has accepted younger fans excited by new ideas, unlimited substitutions, and more interesting “secret weapons”, as reported by Diario Sport.

He complimented the King’s League for being popular among many legends of the game and players still active, such as Neymar and Ronaldinho, who both joined the team as president from France and Brazil, respectively.

When asked about critics like La Liga president Javier Tebas, who he called the Kings League a circus, Piqué argued that it is for the modern-day fans to engage with in 15-minute, or shorter, highlight form.

On the Ballon d’Or, Piqué was asked who he’d vote for, and he said Lamine Yamal and praised his unbelievable talent. “I shared the dressing room with both Yamal and Ousmane Dembélé.

They’re both incredible guys. I feel like Ousmane is more like a brother, but Lamine is different.”

“He’s at Barça and in the King’s League, so hopefully he wins,” Piqué stated. He said he would be pleased for Dembélé if he did, due to their friendship.

The way Yamal is rising and being a part of the Kings League also signifies how his profile is growing.

Piqué also mentioned PSG’s Luis Enrique, whom he called a “fantastic leader” and said that he took a team that was not as good as it was before Mbappé, and came to make them one of the best football teams in Europe.

With the 2023 King’s League growing, what Piqué has generated is a blend of football’s traditional game with entertaining innovations, and his Ballon d’Or selection to put on the pedestal of Barcelona, as a city, with the potential for success.
