Deco opens up about Barcelona’s transfers

The former Portuguese star who has taken over as the Sporting Director of FC Barcelona after the resignation of Mateu Alemany was faced with lots of questions, notable among those questions was the arrival of Vitor Roque and the club’s stance concerning the two JOAOs.

Barcelona Sporting Director, Deco attended an interview with RAC1 where he made clear the club’s stance on some issues.

The former Portuguese star who has taken over as the Sporting Director of FC Barcelona after the resignation of Mateu Alemany was faced with lots of questions, notable among those questions was the arrival of Vitor Roque and the club’s stance concerning the two JOAOs.

On the Brazilian talent, Deco had this to say: “We all want Vitor Roque to come as soon as possible. He’s my bet, Xavi’s bet and club’s bet”.
“We are doing everything to have him in January, we know the regulations of La Liga. They’ve made some changes that can help us.”

Vitor Roque who was hand picked by Deco as the next big thing South America market has to offer, has had to deal with uncertainty over his future after reports in the media claimed Barcelona would be unable to bring in the Brazilian starlet come January.While the JOAOs have experienced a drop in their output compared to the start of the season, Deco gave a sense of reassurance to those in the camp of the JOAOs saying; “No doubts, we want to keep both Joao Felix and Cancelo also next season and for the future. They’re key players for us and they’re happy here”.

“It’s still early but we will think about the negotiation, we are happy with both of them”.
With the international break upon us, Barcelona sit third on the table,4 points below league leaders Girona. Barça is expected to return to action in a match away to Rayo Vallecano.
