Barcelona will be aiming to edge closer to securing a place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the quarter-finals later tonight.

Ahead of this crucial encounter at Montjuic, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has revealed the squad of players available for selection.

With the stakes high, all eyes are on the lineup that could take them one step closer to the final four of Europe’s elite competition.

The major piece of news for Barcelona fans is the return of defender Inigo Martinez, who missed the 1-1 draw against Real Betis due to a minor injury in his glutes.

After completing a full week of training, the Spanish international has been included in the squad and is expected to feature in the heart of the defence alongside Pau Cubarsi.

Martinez’s return is a massive boost for Barcelona as they look to tighten up their backline ahead of a crucial clash against Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Dani Olmo remains sidelined with an adductor injury, leaving him out of the equation for tonight’s game.

There is, however, optimism around his potential return to action in time for the weekend’s La Liga fixture against Leganes.

The Catalan club also faces a setback with the absence of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who has yet to recover fully and continues to be out of action, with Marc Bernal also unavailable due to injury.

With Barcelona’s defence strengthened by the return of Martinez, the focus now shifts to how the team will fare in the absence of key figures like Olmo and Ter Stegen.

The Blaugrana have shown resilience in recent matches, but their performance against Dortmund will be a true test of their resolve and ability to compete at the highest level.

Barcelona’s Champions League ambitions are firmly on the line in this first leg, and Flick’s men will be determined to make a strong statement tonight.

A solid performance and a good result could set them up for a crucial second leg at the Signal Iduna Park, where Hansi Flick and his men will look to advance to the semi-finals.

As the match kicks off, all eyes will be on Barcelona’s revamped defence and their ability to overcome the challenges posed by a tough Dortmund side.
