Real Madrid is reportedly eyeing a young talent often compared to FC Barcelona star Pedri, as per AS, which cites anonymous sources.
The midfielder, Aaron Martín, has drawn comparisons to the Blaugrana sensation, who famously failed a trial with Los Blancos before his rise to stardom.
“I tried out for Real Madrid, but they said I wasn’t good enough. I’m grateful to those who doubted me because now I’m with the team I’ve loved all my life,” Pedri revealed to El Larguero in 2020, shortly after breaking into Barcelona’s first team.
Unsurprisingly, clubs are scrambling to secure the signature of the so-called “new Pedri.” According to AS, Aaron Martín, a Tenerife-born midfielder like Pedri, is high on Real Madrid’s wishlist.
The 18-year-old is seen as a player who could make an immediate impact at Castilla and eventually transition to the first team.
Much like Pedri’s move to Barcelona, Martín could be available for a bargain fee of around $2.1 million (€2 million), making him an attractive prospect.
Renowned for his exceptional vision and precise right foot, Martín has quickly climbed from youth football to the senior squad. It remains to be seen which Spanish giant will convince the rising star to join their ranks.
