Since Hansi Flick joined Barcelona last summer, he has been very up-front about the players who have impressed him.
La Masia players like Marc Casado and Pau Cubarsi have all broken into the team under the German, however, some players that previous managers preferred have been seemingly left behind.
One of these players is Ansu Fati, who when he broke into the first team as a teenager was touted as Lionel Messi’s long-term replacement.
Sadly for the Spaniard, it has not worked out how everyone had hoped and so far this campaign Flick has been very honest that the 22-year-old is not up to his standards.
Ansu Fati to depart Barcelona
The La Masia graduate looked set to leave in January, however, he was adamant about staying at Barca despite interest from many Premier League clubs.
Now, Alfredo Martinez, via Managing Barca, has reported that Fati will be leaving Barcelona in the upcoming summer transfer window.
It is expected that the 22-year-old Barcelona forward will join a club in Saudi Arabia or Qatar, potentially earning Barcelona a pretty penny.
It is a shame that Fati never worked out as the talent is clearly there. Hopefully, he can rejuvenate his career elsewhere and show why he was so highly rated at Barcelona.
