Recently, there has been plenty of talks surrounding Neymar returning to Barcelona and if reports are to be believed, the club are actively working on a potential deal.

Along with the Brazilian, Lionel Messi has also been linked with a surprising return and some media have claimed that it is what the Argentine wants.

However, as of now, there have not been any super reliable journalists confirming the story or really even commenting on the rumours.

Fabrizio Romano on Lionel Messi & Barcelona

Speaking in a recent interview, as cited by Managing Barca, world-renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano was asked if Messi would return to Barcelona.

“There is nothing,” Romano replied.

If Messi was to return to Barcelona then it would break the internet but with how much Inter Miami value him, it is very unlikely they will allow him to leave permanently whilst he is under contract with the MLS side.

Even if it is just a loan move before the upcoming World Cup, it would be amazing to see Messi in a Barcelona shirt one more time before he eventually retires.
