Since Hansi Flick has joined Barcelona many players have drastically improved, most notably Alejandro Balde.

The jury was still out on the left-back under Xavi, however, since the German coach has taken over, the 21-year-old has come on leaps and bounds, improving offensively and defensively.

Due to this development, Balde has become a key figure in Flick’s defensive line, already playing 31 games in all competitions this season.

Because of this upturn in form, the La Masia graduate is now garnering interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Fichajes have recently reported that Premier League giants Manchester United have selected Balde as a ‘priority target’ for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have struggled with left-backs over the years and they reportedly see the 21-year-old Barca defender as the perfect long-term player for Ruben Amorim’s wingback system.

Unfortunately for United, they could have a hard time prying Balde away from Barcelona, especially as the Spaniard has become a constant starter under Flick.

Another stumbling block that Amorim’s side will face is their finances, as reports in England have claimed they will have to sell players to buy players for the next transfer window.

At the moment, the Blaugrana are not in desperate need of funds so any approach for their La Masia stars will be met with a hefty price tag that would turn most clubs away.
