Unlike their La Liga form, Barcelona are flying in the Champions League ‘League Phase’, winning five out of the six games they have played.

The Blaugrana are currently sitting second, three points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have won every game so far.

Due to this electric form, it has meant that Hansi Flick’s side are one of the favourites to win the entire competition, something Bruno Lage, Benfica’s coach, has said ahead of their game against the Spanish side on Tuesday.

In Flick’s press conference, cited by Managing Barca, the German coach discussed if his side were indeed one of the favourites.

“Benfica’s coach saying that we are favourites for the UCL? The future will tell if he is right or not, obviously it is one of our objectives. It’s one of the most difficult competitions to win.”

The German coach also praised Liverpool’s side, who are arguably the best team in the world at the moment.

“Liverpool is one of my favourite teams at the moment. I watch them, and in each game they play very well. They’re doing a great job.”

Dani Olmo recently said he thinks the Champions League final will be Barcelona v Liverpool, a game that would pose a lot of challenges for Barca.

However, it would be a very entertaining game and with the attacking talent in each side, there would be plenty of goals.
