Barcelona have been long-term admirers of Athletic Club’s star winger Nico Williams, so much so that they pushed very hard to sign him last summer.

However, due to financial restraints at the club, the Catalonian side were unable to pay the asking price for the 22-year-old winger.

Despite being unable to complete a deal last summer, it was expected that Barça would return in the future as they see Williams and Lamine Yamal being the club’s wingers for the next 10 years.

Unfortunately, according to Graeme Bailey of Tribunal Football, that dream could be set to collapse as the Spanish international is being heavily scouted by three Premier League giants.

It is being reported that Liverpool and Arsenal, as well as Manchester City, have all been very impressed with his development over the last couple of years.

The report states that Williams is considering the move as there are major doubts if Barcelona can trigger his €58million release clause.

Fortunately, there is a positive in this article for Barcelona, as it is claimed the 22-year-old would want to join the Spanish side after spending a few years in the Premier League.

With the Blaugrana recently being linked to the likes of Luis Diaz, Son Heung-min and Leroy Sane, it could be signalling that they are exploring different options outside of Nico.

However, if Williams does move on next summer, expect Barça to be hovering around the situation and keeping close tabs on it.
