One of the main weaknesses in Hansi Flick’s team is the lack of quality players at the left-wing position.

Barça were very interested in a number of players in that position last summer, including Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, however, due to the financial restraints at the club, a deal was basically impossible.

Despite this, it seems like the Blaugrana are not giving up in their hunt for a world-class player in that role to improve the squad.

Fernando Polo and Gabriel Sans of Mundo Deportivo have named the two players at the top of Deco’s wishlist for next summer’s transfer window.

Firstly is Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, who under new manager Arne Slot has started hitting the back of the net a lot more, scoring 12 goals in all competitions for the Reds this season.

This goalscoring form has coincided with Slot moving the Colombian from the wing to a more central position, which is suiting how the Dutch coach wants him to play.

The report does state that the Premier League side are currently in discussions with the 27-year-old over a new deal, which expires in 2027, but he has so far refused as the ones offered do not line up with his importance in the team.

Another player who is linked with a move to Catalonia is AC Milan’s Rafael Leão, who has had a tough start to the season with the Rossoneri.

The 25-year-old did not have a good relationship with their former coach Paulo Fonseca, however, he has now departed and has been replaced by Leão’s countryman Sérgio Conceição.

Barcelona have admired the 25-year-old for some time now and even tried to sign him last summer with the help of Jorge Mendes, however, the inability to get back to the 1:1 at the time derailed any potential transfer.

It is understood that the Portuguese international is ready to make the jump to a ‘big club’ and so far Barça still hold him in very high regards.
