After the RFEF and La Liga declined Dani Olmo’s and Pau Victor’s registration, reports stated that Barcelona would be taking it to the National Sports Council (CSD) and it looks like that will happen today.

ESport3 has reported this morning that Barça will formally request an emergency injunction from the CSD today to register Olmo and Víctor.

It is stated that this type of resolution is usually only granted under ‘exceptional circumstances’, and normally takes three to four days for a response.

However, the report says that RFEF sources believe the CSD is more likely to grant a standard injunction rather than an urgent one, as the case is not deemed ‘exceptional’.

This would mean a response time of approximately 15 days, effectively ruling the players out of the Super Cup Final, something Barcelona were hoping they could take part in if they beat Athletic Club on Wednesday, but allowing them to play for the remainder of the season.

If the CSD think this situation is an exceptional circumstance, that would massively benefit Hansi Flick’s side, especially if they can beat Athletic Club and reach the final against either Real Madrid or RCD Mallorca.

As it has been the whole time with this story though, we will have to wait and see until it is official to know the true outcome, whether that be good or bad for Barça.
