Barcelona have been “recommended” to sign highly-rated midfielder by Hansi Flick’s friend.

During the last summer transfer window, FC Barcelona faced an urgent need to strengthen their midfield pivot position following Oriol Romeu’s departure.
While names like Amadou Onana and Mikel Merino were linked to the club, no new signings materialized. Fortunately, academy talents Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal have stepped up impressively, temporarily easing concerns in that role.
According to SPORT, former Bayern Munich star and Hansi Flick’s close associate, Lothar Matthäus, has now recommended Angelo Stiller as a potential addition. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder, currently thriving at VfB Stuttgart, was previously on Barcelona’s radar.
Matthäus believes Stiller’s playing style aligns perfectly with Barcelona’s system, stating: “Stiller could organize their midfield and make a real impact at Barça.”
However, with a contract at RB Salzburg until 2027 and a €30 million valuation, the move hinges on Barcelona generating funds through player sales. Whether they act on Matthäus’ suggestion remains to be seen.
