Chelsea is said to be seeking approximately £30 million for 21-year-old English midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, who has reportedly piqued Barcelona’s interest.
TEAMtalk reported that Barcelona is eyeing a potential move for Chukwuemeka as part of their midfield strengthening plans for the upcoming year.
The promising Chelsea prospect has caught the attention as a possible target, however, the Blues are looking for around £30 million for his acquisition.
Barcelona’s attraction towards Chukwuemeka is understandable, given Deco’s appreciation for the player’s skills and promising future. The sporting director is eager to acquire the Chelsea midfielder for Camp Nou in the upcoming winter transfer window.
The role Chukwuemeka would play in Barcelona’s current lineup is uncertain. Marc Bernal and Marc Casado have already earned the trust of new manager Hansi Flick, contributing to a strong midfield consisting of six talented players.
It is challenging to justify the pursuit of Chukwuemeka unless a current midfielder is sold. Chukwuemeka continues to be a target for Barcelona, as Chelsea estimates his value at approximately £30 million.
Investing £30 million in Chukwuemeka could ultimately be a strategic decision for any club. It is uncertain at this time if Barcelona will agree to meet Chelsea’s requested fee in order to acquire the talented young midfielder.
