Nico Williams’ agent reveals why he did not sign for Barcelona this summer.

Nico Williams was at the center of significant transfer rumors over the summer, with Barcelona emerging as the primary interested party.
However, in the end, no deal materialized, and Williams has stayed with Athletic Club.
Williams’ agents, Felix Tainta and Juan Oyaga, recently discussed the summer of speculation with Cadena SER and explained why the 22-year-old chose to remain with Los Leones.
According to them, “The young man has had an exceptional year, and his performance in the European Championship was a testament to that.
This resulted in significant interest, multiple expeditions, and a feeling of anticipation. The process was particularly rigorous, particularly as the transfer window neared its conclusion.
The choice to remain was his. He chose to extend for an additional year and concentrate on his growth. He desired to remain and follow through with the situation without any external influences impacting his decision.”
