This progress comes after it was announced that young midfielder Marc Bernal will need a considerable amount of time to recover.
The teenager has torn the ACL in his left knee and is projected to be out for almost a year.
The club is currently considering the possibility of acquiring Rabiot due to the current circumstances.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona could finalize the deal for the French international in the next two days if they can meet the 1:1 financial fair play rule, as long as the player has not already agreed to join another team.
