Barcelona’s upcoming 2024/25 season is crucial, and manager Hansi Flick faces a tough task, especially with Real Madrid surpassing the Catalan side last year and having made big signings.
A key area of concern for Barcelona has been the defensive midfield position.
While it’s an enormous challenge to replace Sergio Busquets due to his unique impact on the team, Barcelona’s style of play still demands a strong presence in that role.
Flick has expressed his clear intention not to bring in new players for that position.
According to reports, Flick has shown admiration for two promising young talents, Marc Casado and Marc Bernal.
Given Barcelona’s tradition of promoting players from their renowned La Masia academy, it looks probable that these two will have roles in the first team next season.
