Barcelona is purportedly contemplating offloading Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong in the forthcoming summer transfer window if they fail to reach new contract agreements within the next eight months.

Both players are currently signed with the club until June 2026, however, there is increasing speculation regarding their prospects at Camp Nou.

Manchester United has expressed keen interest in both players, with De Jong being a longstanding target for their midfield and Araujo drawing the attention of the club’s management.

According to reports from SPORT, Barcelona is keen to negotiate new contracts with Araujo and De Jong. If an agreement is not reached, the duo may be put up for transfer in the summer of 2025.

De Jong has reportedly not replied to a contract proposal made in January, leading Barcelona to push for a decision from the Dutch midfielder.

Araujo is said to be indecisive about renewing his contract, as Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich closely monitor his situation.

Manchester United is expected to pursue a center-back and central midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The possibility of securing deals for Araujo and De Jong presents a potential challenge. Barcelona is expected to request approximately £70 million for each player, amounting to a total of £140 million, presenting a significant obstacle.

De Jong has the potential to enhance United’s midfield, addressing an area of weakness, whereas Araujo’s athleticism and skill position him as a compelling choice for strengthening the defense, given his reputation as one of the premier defenders globally in recent years.
