A talented €45 million defender at Tottenham Hotspur is keen to move to Barcelona, boosting hopes of a successful pursuit.
Barcelona’s sporting direction has made strengthening the right side of their defense a top priority for upcoming windows, carefully monitoring tactical fits who can seamlessly integrate into Hansi Flick’s setup.
With the player reportedly eager to return to his homeland, Catalan directors are keeping close tabs on the evolving situation in North London.
The Premier League full-back driving this speculation as a Tottenham Hotspur defender keen on a Barcelona switch is Spain international Pedro Porro, as reported by Fichajes.
The 27-year-old right-back has emerged as a prime candidate on sporting director Deco’s radar as Barcelona evaluate mid-season and summer defensive reinforcements.
Porro’s desire to swap North London for Catalonia stems from both an ambition to compete for major honors back in La Liga and his strong tactical synergy with Barcelona’s existing core during their international campaigns together.
From Barcelona’s perspective, securing Porro would provide an immediate upgrade in width, crossing delivery, and high-intensity pressing.
His established chemistry with Lamine Yamal on Spain’s right flank offers a ready-made dynamic that could elevate Barcelona’s attacking potency.
However, negotiating a deal with Tottenham Hotspur will require delicate maneuvering, as the Premier League outfit values the full-back at approximately €45 million and holds a strong negotiating posture following his recent contract extension.
For Barcelona, potential movement in their own squad—such as Chelsea’s ongoing interest in Jules Koundé—could free up both the tactical slot and financial resources needed to execute a swoop for Porro.
As the January window draws nearer, the Catalan club will weigh their options between immediate established quality and younger alternatives.
Football observers remain eager to see whether Porro’s eagerness for a La Liga return will force a formal approach from Barcelona to test Tottenham’s resolve.
