A top €45m Tottenham Hotspur defender has expressed his openness to a move that would take him to Camp Nou.
FC Barcelona are remaining attentive to potential market opportunities across Europe as sporting director Deco and head coach Hansi Flick evaluate long-term options to strengthen the squad.
The Catalan giants are keeping close track of key performers in the Premier League whose club situations could align with Barcelona’s sporting ambitions.
The player contemplating a potential return to Spain is 27-year-old Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro, as reported by Fichajes.
Although the Spanish international remains content living in London, recent developments surrounding Tottenham’s inconsistent sporting form have prompted him to reconsider his long-term future.
Should Tottenham Hotspur fail to turn their campaign around and miss out on qualification for premier European competitions, Barcelona has emerged as a dream destination that strongly appeals to the dynamic full-back.
Porro’s start to the current campaign in London has been impacted by muscular issues, though his technical quality and attacking output from full-back remain highly regarded across Europe.
His ability to cover the entire right flank, provide precision delivery into the penalty area, and invert into midfield during possession phases aligns neatly with the tactical demands Flick places on modern defenders.
For a player in his prime, returning to La Liga to represent a club competing for major silverware represents a logical next step if Tottenham’s project stumbles.
However, executing a transfer will present financial and contractual complexities.
Porro is tied to a long-term contract at Tottenham Hotspur, giving the North London club significant leverage in any negotiations.
Should Spurs recover their form and challenge for European objectives, his stay in London remains secure.
Nonetheless, Deco and Barcelona’s recruitment department will continue to monitor the situation closely, ready to step in should the opportunity arise to bring the €45m-rated defender to Catalonia.
