Barcelona wrapped up their home campaign in style last weekend as Hansi Flick’s side continued their remarkable form in La Liga with another victory at the Spotify Camp Nou.
The win against Real Betis ensured Barcelona finished the season with a flawless home league record, winning all 19 of their matches on home soil throughout the campaign.
It was another sign of the progress made under Flick during a season that also delivered major silverware and restored excitement around the club once again.
However, while the players now head into their summer break, activity around the stadium itself is only expected to intensify over the coming months.
Football will not return to the Spotify Camp Nou until mid-August for the Joan Gamper Trophy, which still does not yet have a confirmed opponent or official date scheduled.
That extended break from matchday activity is now expected to give Barcelona a huge opportunity to accelerate construction work around the stadium and wider Espai Barça project.
According to Sport, progress has already been significant on the third tier of the stadium, where the structure has now been fully raised and the concrete phase completed several weeks ago.
Current work is focused on welding before the waterproofing process begins, which will then clear the way for seats to start being installed in that section of the ground.
Supporters are expected to begin seeing visible seating appear over the coming weeks as construction continues to move forward.
The summer period will also reportedly bring major developments in other areas surrounding the stadium complex.
One of those newly developed spaces is expected to become the future home of the new Spotify Camp Nou Store as Barcelona continue reshaping the area around their iconic stadium.
