Barcelona are beginning to map out the post-Robert Lewandowski era, with the striker expected to make a final decision on his future at the end of the campaign.

The club’s domestic success this season has not slowed preparations for a major summer, particularly in attack where changes could arrive quickly.

One striker had emerged as the leading candidate to take over, but that plan now appears to be shifting.

Julian Alvarez had been viewed as Barcelona’s preferred option to strengthen the centre-forward role.

The Argentine was identified internally as the priority addition for the summer window.

However, talks have reportedly become increasingly difficult.

Those complications have forced Barcelona to look at alternatives.

The club are now assessing the market more broadly as they prepare for the possible departure of Lewandowski.

Victor Osimhen has emerged as one of the names most appreciated by Barcelona’s recruitment team, as reported by The Athletic.

The current Galatasaray striker is seen as a proven goalscorer who could adapt quickly to La Liga.

At 27, he fits the profile of a player entering his prime years.

Barcelona value both his physical style and consistent output across Europe.

That makes him one of the strongest alternatives if Alvarez becomes unattainable.

Victor Osimhen has delivered another strong campaign in Turkey.

The former Napoli striker has scored 22 goals and added eight assists in 33 appearances.

Seven of those goals came in the Champions League.

That return has reinforced why major clubs remain interested.

Barcelona are understood to see him as a ready-made replacement capable of leading the line immediately.

A move would not be straightforward.

Osimhen is under contract until 2029, meaning any club would need to pay heavily to sign him.

That could become a major issue for Barcelona despite their admiration for the player.

With Lewandowski’s future uncertain and Alvarez proving difficult to land, Barcelona’s striker shortlist is now changing rapidly ahead of the transfer window.
