The final phase of the season is already shaping key decisions at Barcelona.

With squad planning intensifying, attention has turned toward reinforcing attacking areas ahead of the next campaign.

There is a clear understanding within the club that improvements are needed out wide, especially with inconsistencies affecting overall balance.

That has led to a number of names being assessed, ranging from emerging talents to established figures.

However, not every promising profile is aligning with the club’s current priorities.

One player who has been repeatedly linked is Mika Godts of Ajax.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakout season, delivering impressive numbers in both goals and assists across competitions.

His performances have drawn attention from several top European clubs, placing him firmly on the radar of elite teams.

Barcelona themselves have monitored his development and recognise the potential he offers.

Despite that, the club’s stance appears to be firm for now.

According to Marca, while his name has been presented internally on multiple occasions, the Catalan side are not actively pursuing a move.

The reasoning lies less in his ability and more in the profile they are prioritising.

At this stage, the focus is on bringing in a more experienced winger, someone capable of contributing immediately while also offering leadership within the squad.

That requirement has effectively pushed Mika Godts down the list of options.

From a long-term perspective, he is still viewed as a player with significant upside.

But with immediate results taking precedence, Barcelona are leaning toward a different type of signing.

This approach also ties into the evolving role of Raphinha within the squad.

The current campaign has highlighted the need for stronger competition and possibly a higher-calibre option in that position.

As a result, the club is being selective about the next addition, prioritising experience over raw potential.

For Godts, that means his future likely lies elsewhere, at least for the time being.

For Barcelona, the search continues, with the objective clear: find a winger who can deliver both quality and leadership from day one.
