A €20m La Liga winger nears a move to Barcelona as the club targets the versatile attacker to boost their wide options next season.
The 22‑year‑old wide player has emerged as one of the standout young talents in Spain’s top flight, attracting attention after a breakout campaign with Osasuna that included multiple goals and assists across the league and cup competitions.
The club is looking for reinforcements behind their main starters and views this winger as a long‑term investment who can grow into a key role over the next few seasons.
The player in question is Víctor Muñoz, Osasuna’s in‑form winger, who has recently been named in Spain’s national team squad and made an impression in his first international appearance, as reported by Fichajes.
His contract situation is complicated because Real Madrid retain 50% of his economic rights along with buy‑back options worth €8 million, €9 million, and €10 million over the coming years.
On top of that, Muñoz has a release clause of €40 million, of which half would go straight to Real Madrid if Barcelona decides to trigger it, making the deal financially awkward for the Catalan club.
Part of the hesitation comes from the idea of indirectly funding their biggest rivals, while Osasuna is also reluctant to let a key attacker go for less than the full release fee because of his importance to the team.
Even so, reports suggest the first indications are positive and that Barcelona continues to view Muñoz as a realistic target if the contractual and financial hurdles can be resolved in the coming months.
With wages also expected to rise if he makes the switch, the club will need to balance sporting ambition with financial prudence as they weigh up a potential summer move for the promising €20 million La Liga winger.
