Barcelona has secured a major coup by reaching a full agreement with one of Europe’s most exciting teenage attacking talents.
The Catalan giants, under growing pressure to protect homegrown talent from the lure of Europe’s richest clubs, have treated this renewal as a strategic priority, viewing the youngster as a key piece of their future frontline.
The agreement reflects a broader commitment to building around academy products, ensuring that the next wave of attacking stars is tied down well before they explode onto the global stage.
That player is 15-year-old winger Ebrima Tunkara, who has reached an agreement over a new contract that will be formalised once he is eligible to sign professional terms.
Widely regarded within the club as a super talent, Tunkara has already made the jump to Barcelona B and featured in the UEFA Youth League, underlining the high regard in which he is held by the coaching staff.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that there were never serious obstacles in negotiations, with both Barça and the player’s camp, led by agent Pini Zahavi, fully aligned on keeping him at the club.
Barcelona views Tunkara as part of the same emerging generation that includes Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí, and internally, he has even been dubbed the “next Lamine Yamal” because of his flair, end product, and ability to decide games from the wing.
The club’s plan is for him to continue progressing step by step through La Masia and the youth categories, eventually earning a pathway into the first team once he turns 16 and beyond.
For Tunkara, the extension is both a reward and a responsibility: he feels valued, trusts the project, and is determined to grow within the environment that has shaped him since his pre-benjamín days.
