FC Barcelona has confirmed a successful surgical procedure for one of its key stars, offering hope amid the club’s ongoing challenges.

With a packed schedule across La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, manager Hansi Flick is grappling with the absence of several stars, including midfielder Gavi, who is sidelined for months.

The latest injury blow has forced the Blaugrana to adjust their plans, particularly in a critical position, as they prepare for high-stakes matches like the upcoming clash with PSG and El Clásico against Real Madrid.

The club has now provided an official update on the player’s condition, offering hope for a swift recovery.

The player in question is goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who successfully underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to address a torn meniscus, as confirmed by FC Barcelona.

The procedure, performed by Dr. Joan Carles Monllau at Barcelona Hospital, was announced following the club’s initial disclosure of the 24-year-old’s injury on Friday.

Garcia, a summer arrival from RCD Espanyol, has been a mainstay in goal this season, but the injury sustained in training will sideline him for four to six weeks, depending on his recovery progress.

This timeline puts his participation in doubt for key fixtures, including the Champions League match against PSG and the October showdown with Real Madrid.

Barcelona’s goalkeeping depth is now under scrutiny, with Marc-André ter Stegen also out until 2026 and veteran Wojciech Szczesny stepping in as the primary option.

The club has recalled young Diego Kochen from international duty to provide cover, but Garcia’s absence is a significant blow.

His expected return in early November could see him back for a crucial stretch of games, provided his rehabilitation stays on track.

For now, Flick and the Barcelona faithful are focused on supporting Garcia’s recovery while navigating a turbulent period, with the team’s resilience and adaptability set to be tested in the coming weeks.
