Hansi Flick, Barcelona’s tactically astute manager, is gearing up for a strategic overhaul as the team prepares to face Getafe.

FC Barcelona’s recent 2-1 victory over Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League has set a positive tone, but the demanding schedule leaves little room for rest as they prepare to face Getafe in La Liga on Sunday.

With the match set to take place at Estadi Johan Cruyff, as Spotify Camp Nou awaits licensing approval, the Blaugrana are focused on maintaining their strong start in the domestic league.

Currently second in La Liga with ten points from four games, trailing leaders Real Madrid by two points, Barcelona is eager to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.

According to Mundo Deportivo, manager Hansi Flick is expected to implement rotations to the starting lineup against Getafe, considering the physical toll of the Newcastle match and the travel involved.

Key defender Pau Cubarsí, who experienced knee discomfort during the Champions League game, may be rested, though the club insists he is fit to play.

Ronald Araujo, who suffered cramps, and Frenkie de Jong, recently back from a minor injury, will also be monitored.

These concerns could open the door for players like Marc Casado, Andreas Christensen, and Eric Garcia to feature, while Dani Olmo might replace Fermín López in the No. 10 role.

The rotation strategy aims to balance player fitness with the need to maintain momentum in a tightly contested La Liga race.

However, Barcelona will be without several key players, including Lamine Yamal, who remains sidelined with pubic discomfort, and Gavi and Alejandro Balde, who are also unavailable.

Goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen continues his long-term recovery.

Flick’s tactical adjustments will be crucial as Barcelona face a Getafe side known for its physicality.

With a blockbuster Champions League tie against PSG looming, managing squad depth and energy will be key to sustaining Barcelona’s competitive edge across multiple fronts in this pivotal stretch of the season.
