The summer transfer window has seen a flurry of activity across Europe, with clubs moving quickly to strengthen squads.

Barcelona have been particularly busy, juggling high-profile arrivals while trying to manage a squad packed with young talent and experienced stars alike.

Several academy products and fringe players have faced tough decisions this summer, as opportunities for regular first-team football have become increasingly limited.

Fans have been watching closely to see which young players will fight for minutes under Hansi Flick and which may need to leave to continue their development elsewhere.

Pau Victor is one of the latest talents to make such a choice, opting to depart Camp Nou in search of more game time and personal growth.

The young forward joined SC Braga in a deal reportedly worth €12 million after struggling for opportunities at Barcelona last season.

In a recent interview with Jijantes, via X, Pau Victor opened up about his decision to leave the Catalan club and reflected on his time under Hansi Flick.

“The year was incredible for everyone, but I needed to play and grow, and after talking with the coach, the best thing was to leave,” Victor explained, citing the difficulty of breaking into a team strengthened by the arrival of Marcus Rashford.

He also reminisced about two highlights from a season in which he could not even amass 500 minutes of action.

“I have two moments: one is when we won the Copa del Rey because we won and I was able to play, and the other is the preseason because that’s when I said I could play here,” he said.

Despite limited minutes, Victor made it clear that he harbours no ill will towards Barcelona or Flick.

“It’s not easy to manage the team with so many matches because you focus on the 11 or 12 who play, but Hansi was very attentive to us.

“He was like a father to us; he told me he would be keeping an eye on Braga,” he added.

Since moving to Braga, Pau Victor has already made a promising start, scoring twice, including a goal in the Europa League qualifying round against Lincoln FC.

The forward’s departure highlights the ongoing challenges for Barcelona in balancing the development of young talent with the demands of a top-tier first team, as well as the tough choices facing Hansi Flick and his coaching staff in managing a crowded squad.
