FC Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou is set to reopen in 2025, bringing fans back after two seasons of renovation and upgrades.

FC Barcelona is on the cusp of a significant milestone as they prepare to return to their historic home, with ongoing renovations shaping the future of their iconic stadium.

After spending the past two seasons at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, the club is working diligently to meet regulatory requirements and ensure a safe and triumphant homecoming for their fans.

The anticipation is building as key approvals draw closer, setting the stage for a new chapter in the club’s storied history.

According to ARA, Barcelona is targeting a September 14 return to the Spotify Camp Nou, with the first official construction permit expected in early September.

The club has confirmed they will not return to Montjuic for the 2025/26 season, having received internal confirmation in late July that matches at the temporary venue are no longer necessary.

La Liga and UEFA delegations are scheduled to inspect the stadium in August, with the European Club Association (ECA) conducting a final review in early September.

If these inspections confirm compliance with safety and infrastructure standards, the official reopening announcement is set for September 14, ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Valencia.

The return to Camp Nou will be phased due to uneven construction progress. Initially, only the Grandstand and South Goal areas will be operational, accommodating approximately 27,000 fans.

A successful ECA inspection could also allow the Lateral section to open, increasing capacity to 45,000.

The Gol Nord section, where work lags, is expected to be ready by October, boosting capacity to 62,000.

These steps reflect Barcelona’s cautious approach to ensuring a safe and functional return to their revamped stadium.

This partial reopening is a pivotal moment for Barcelona, both emotionally and financially, as it ends their exile from Camp Nou and enhances revenue potential.

The club’s focus on securing permits and passing inspections underscores their commitment to delivering a modernized venue while maintaining the iconic atmosphere that defines their home.
