Sevilla is poised to make a daring move for a sidelined Barcelona youngster, aiming to bolster their squad.

FC Barcelona’s squad is under the microscope ahead of the transfer window, and one young player could find himself departing from the Camp Nou in the next few days.

The attacking midfielder, who turned 22 last month, has had a hard time getting playing time under manager Hansi Flick, although he has shown some skill when he has been afforded time to play.

With other talented options at Barcelona and the rumor that they may bring in more new players in midfield, it seems unlikely he will find regular minutes, and La Liga rivals Sevilla are interested in securing his signature.

The player is Pablo Torre, who is a player Barcelona brought up from their La Masia academy, who has a lot of potential but hasn’t seen much playing time this season, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

As it stands, Sevilla have been collecting reports and information on Torre while waiting for him to finish his championship duties with Spain in the UEFA Under-21 European Championship before making formal advancements in their attempt to sign him.

Torre has a contract until 2026, which has made Barcelona deliberate on extending the agreement to ensure control over his future, likely making him available for a loan, and even a sale with a buy-back clause.

However, Torre himself is reportedly open to a move to Sevilla, who could offer him more regular playing time to prepare for a return to Barcelona in the future.

Sevilla’s interest matches their plan to revamp their squad with new sporting director Antonio Cordon. Torre’s technical prowess and vision would fit perfectly with Sevilla’s goals.

Barcelona is facing financial issues and a crowded midfield, which may become even more crowded with the possible signing of Nico Williams, putting Torre further along in the pecking order.

As the summer progresses, Torre’s ultimate decision will be based on guarantees of playing time and a project to match his style, with Sevilla being a strong option to give him a new beginning.
