PSG reach €6m agreement with Barcelona star as French giants close in on shock January raid for Camp Nou talent.

Luis Enrique’s side has moved quickly to secure one of Europe’s most coveted teenage creators, agreeing a long-term deal while preparing to trigger an accessible release clause that has alarmed Barcelona’s hierarchy.

For the Catalans, losing a jewel of their academy to a continental rival reopens old wounds from previous Paris departures.

That star is 18-year-old attacking midfielder Dro Fernández, who has verbally agreed a four-to-five-year contract with PSG ahead of a €6 million switch, as reported by journalist Santi Aouna.

The youngster only turned 18 this week, a key detail because it activated the clause in his Barcelona deal that allows him to buy himself out for that fee.

Despite Hansi Flick rapidly fast-tracking him into the first-team picture with Champions League and La Liga minutes, Dro has informed Barcelona of his intention to leave, stunning the club’s sporting department.

He announced himself with a spectacular pre-season goal against Daegu FC and later became the second-youngest player to register a Champions League assist for Barcelona, underlining his big-game temperament.

PSG, already well stocked with young talent, views him as a long-term midfield cornerstone and is ready to pay the modest clause immediately.

For Barcelona, the situation is a painful mix of financial constraint and regulatory weakness: a €6m exit for a player they see as first-team material reflects a clause set too low before his explosion.

Club sources feel they offered a clear sporting pathway, but Dro and his camp—helped by strong interest from Germany and England—believe Paris offers faster progression and a major contract at a decisive age.

With verbal agreement in place and PSG leading the race, only paperwork separates Barça from losing another La Masia prodigy to the Parc des Princes project.
