Barcelona’s striker has emerged as a summer transfer target for several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Tottenham.
Villa is particularly keen with Villa’s former scout Mick Brown confirming their interest.
According to El Nacional, the player is Ferran Torres, who is having limited playing time at Barcelona but still managed to bag 16 goals and 4 assists in the season, coming more off the bench.
Aston Villa, now managed by Unai Emery, needs a right-winger and might look to use their contacts in Spain to try and bring one in on loan.
However, Barcelona will not sell the 24-year-old for anything less than €40 million, so the transfer will not be simple.
English clubs have expressed interest, but Torres is thought to be happy at Barcelona and is easing into his new role as an impact substitute.
While Villa, Newcastle, and Spurs are tracking him, a transfer does not seem likely unless a club agrees to Barcelona’s price and persuades Torres to leave.
At the moment, the Spanish forward is committed to his Camp Nou role, with his future to be determined as the summer window draws near.
