Barcelona are expected to make multiple structural changes under new manager Hansi Flick this summer.

Flick has made it clear to club directors that while stability is key, long-term planning must take priority.

With the club still navigating tight Financial Fair Play constraints, finding the right talent at the right price remains a top priority.

Barcelona will be leaning on Deco and the scouting department to secure emerging stars before their value explodes.

And with Robert Lewandowski nearing the twilight of his glittering career, the Catalans are moving quickly to find a long-term replacement.

Barcelona have identified 21-year-old Porto striker Samu Aghehowa as the standout option to eventually succeed the Polish forward, as per Sempre Barca.

The Blaugrana sent scouts to monitor Aghehowa’s recent performance in Porto’s 3-1 league win over Moreirense.

The Nigerian-born striker, who holds Spanish nationality, dazzled in the fixture with two goals, prompting immediate reports of serious interest from Barca.

He has now scored 24 goals and registered 3 assists across 40 appearances this season, showcasing both composure and athleticism in the final third.

Barcelona view him not only as Lewandowski’s heir, but as a long-term investment who can grow under the mentorship of the 36-year-old forward.

The hope is that Samu Aghehowa can be signed early in the window and gradually integrated into the squad during pre-season.

However, the move won’t be simple. The youngster is tied to Porto until 2029, and has a €100 million release clause that poses a major obstacle.

To complicate matters, several top clubs across Europe are also circling the highly rated attacker.

If a deal for Aghehowa proves too expensive, Flick is prepared to consider alternative targets, with Lille’s Jonathan David among those being monitored.

Still, Barcelona’s technical team remains focused on Aghehowa as their dream option to lead the line in the future.

His age, profile, and Spanish ties make him an attractive candidate to slot into a new-look Barca attack in the coming years.

The project is clear: find the next great number nine to take the baton from Lewandowski—and Samu Aghehowa could be that man.
