Nine La Liga clubs are vying for Barcelona ace, as the young star’s imminent departure sparks a fierce transfer battle.
Barcelona’s ongoing overhaul of its roster has drawn attention from around La Liga.
The Catalan side is looking for all the help they can get financially, so the decision to sell a still-developing talent makes sense.
By selling the player, it helps Barcelona’s financial situation while providing Victor with some much-needed experience elsewhere.
There is strong speculation that Barcelona will sell the player, but add a repurchase clause, so they can retain control of their player while satisfying financial regulations set in place by La Liga to track salary cap space as well.
The player in question is Pau Victor, a 23-year-old forward who has only made a handful of first-team appearances and thus is on his way out of the club, as per Diario Sport.
While he did have a decent season with two goals and one assist in 21 La Liga appearances, the young forward did not receive enough first-team opportunities due to the presence of established players like Robert Lewandowski.
Real Betis is in the course of winning the transfer, due to their strong relationship with Barcelona, but Getafe, Sevilla, Celta Vigo, Mallorca, Valencia, Osasuna, and Real Oviedo have also expressed a desire to sign Victor.
Betis has made a long-standing effort to bring Victor to the club, including attempting to sign him in January, so their interest puts them at the forefront.
The abundance of interest in Victor shows that he has the potential to thrive at a club in La Liga, where he could achieve playing time to develop his career.
An announcement should come soon, moving along with the second act in another transformative summer for Barcelona.
