Newcastle United have one of the world’s hottest strikers in the world right now in Alexander Isak.

The Sweden striker has been one of the standout players of the season and scored in Newcastle’s historic FA League Cup final victory over Liverpool.

Not only has he been firing in the cup, but he’s been on fire in all competitions this season.

That form has led him to becoming linked with a range of top teams in England including the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.

With speculation mounting on Isak’s future, it seems that The Magpies hierarchy are looking at alternate options to bring in as a potential replacement.

And one of those is a striker also wanted by Barcelona.

Newcastle United made the first move in the hunt to sign a Fiorentina striker, who has also been Barcelona’s target.

The 24-year-old has been in good form this season, scoring 22 goals – tying his four-year club record at Juventus – and impressing European giants.

According to calciomercato, the player is Moise Kean.

The Magpies are said to have contacted Kean’s agents in an effort to sign a summer transfer.

Barcelona sees him as a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, but Newcastle United are trying to get a deal done early and beat the rest to it.

Fiorentina would prefer to keep their top scorer but would be at risk if his €52 million release clause is called.

President Rocco Commisso will sit down and negotiate a new contract, however, Kean’s future may be in his own hands as to whether he stays or goes.

AC Milan and Napoli are also monitoring the player, Napoli viewing Kean as a fall-back option to cover Victor Osimhen.

Newcastle’s deep pockets and Premier League allure, however, may be the deciding factor.

Before there is any talk of transfer, Kean is determined to win Conference League titles.

A fit state in the season will also make him a more valuable asset on the market.

The next months will show whether he stays in Italy or transfers to a top-club.
