Manchester United’s opening offer for Barcelona’s superstar has been turned down.

The Premier League giants are said to have made the €50 million (£42 million) offer for the highly rated full-back and it was turned down by Barcelona, who feel the offer does not meet his worth.

According to football365, the player is Alejandro Balde.

This is a season Manchester United would rather not remember.

Ever since the sacking of Erik ten Hag in November and the hiring of Ruben Amorim, the club has been in disarray.

Barcelona youngster Alejandro Balde has established himself as a sure starter after the arrival of new manager Hansi Flick.

The 20-year-old has fought back from injury issues during his time at the club and earned his place with his displays.

Barcelona does not want to sell him, and Flick reportedly informed them that Balde would not be sold.

The Spanish side considered him as a future investment, and United made the first offer, which was deemed to be too low.

United will need to come back with much more serious cash if they are serious about signing Balde.

But were it not for Barcelona’s urgency and United’s restrictive budget, the transfer at this time is not an option.

Balde is now center stage at the Barcelona wish list, and United will have to go elsewhere to secure their defense during this window of transfers.
