Barcelona’s search for attacking reinforcements has had them target Lille’s winger, who has refused to renew his contract at the French club.
With his contract expiring in 2026, Lille is prepared to sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer, with an initial asking price of €30 million.
According to Diario Sport, the player is Edon Zhegrova.
The 26-year-old Kosovo International, who has spoken very highly of Barça in the past, has caught the attention of the club’s scouts following his performances this season, particularly in the Champions League against Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid.
Zhegrova, in essence a right winger, has contributed five goals and six assists to Ligue 1 this term.
While Barcelona’s desire is for a left-sided forward, his flexibility and affordable price can make him the ideal man.
But since Ferran Torres, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal are already competing for the right-wing role, the transfer can be negotiated on the basis of exits.
Napoli is also interested, seeing him as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Deco and Barcelona’s hierarchy remain to formally approach a pending resolution on their finances, including Frenkie de Jong and Jules Koundé’s contract renewals.
With the club having to trim budgets close to the bone, Zhegrova’s relatively low valuation relative to other targets may be a boon in his favor.
Not the top priority, but his technical prowess and performances in major games see him as someone to watch out for as the summer window gets underway.
