It is looking more and more likely that Ronald Araújo is set to depart Barcelona this transfer window after nearly seven years at the club.

The now 25-year-old joined Barcelona B from Uruguayan side Boston River in 2018 for a reported fee of €4.7million.

Despite being a key figure since being promoted to the senior side, Araújo now feels unsettled due to circumstances at the club, as well as Hansi Flick preferring the centre-back partnership of Pau Cubarsí and Iñigo Martínez.

Last night, it was report in Italy and Spain that Juventus, who have been leading the race for Araújo, submitted their first bid which was swiftly rejected by the Blaugrana.

Now, according to José Félix Díaz of Marca, the Bianconeri look set to return with a second bid for the defender.

Díaz has been informed that Juve are preparing a €50million offer, however, sources inside the Barça have continuously claimed that they will only consider bids around €70-80million.

Finally, as well as Thiago Motta’s side, the report states that Arsenal are still interested in Araújo and are keeping an eye on the current situation.

If Barcelona can get Arsenal more involved in this transfer saga, then they might be able to manufacture a bidding war, something which would massively benefit the club financially.

However, despite their reported interest, it is still uncertain if the Premier League side will enter the race for the 25-year-old defender.
