Barcelona are expected to be extremely active in the transfer market this summer as the club prepares for life after Robert Lewandowski, whose departure has now forced the Blaugrana into searching for a new long-term striker.

Replacing one of the greatest goalscorers of his generation was never going to be simple, especially with Hansi Flick wanting a forward capable of leading the line immediately while also fitting into Barcelona’s long-term project.

Several names have already been discussed internally, with the club exploring both proven stars and younger attacking talents who could develop into elite-level forwards over the coming years.

While Chelsea attacker Joao Pedro has emerged as Barcelona’s priority option in recent weeks, the Catalans are continuing to monitor alternatives across Europe.

One player firmly on their radar is Eli Junior Kroupi, who has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign with Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old striker has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young forwards in England after scoring 13 goals in 32 league appearances during his debut Premier League season.

Barcelona’s interest, however, comes with a major financial obstacle.

According to AS, Bournemouth are refusing to consider offers below £76 million (€90 million) for the French talent, placing the youngster among the most expensive emerging forwards currently on the market.

The Cherries signed Eli Junior Kroupi from Lorient during the 2025 winter transfer window for around £11 million (€13 million), although he remained in France for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign before officially joining the Premier League side last summer.

Since arriving in England, the teenager’s stock has risen rapidly thanks to his goalscoring consistency and maturity in attack, which has attracted interest from several top European clubs.

With Kroupi tied down to a long-term contract, Bournemouth are under no pressure to negotiate a sale and remain in a strong position heading into the transfer window.

Barcelona had initially viewed Julian Alvarez as their dream replacement for Lewandowski, but complications surrounding a potential move from Atlético Madrid forced the club to widen their search for attacking reinforcements.

Now, as the summer window approaches, Kroupi has become another serious option being assessed by the Barcelona hierarchy as they prepare for a major rebuild in the final third.
