A standout €60m midfielder from Fulham is firmly wanted by FC Barcelona, with the club considering a move for the player.
Catalan scouts have reportedly attended multiple matches in London this season, returning with glowing assessments of the young engine-room technician.
However, the Spanish giants face fierce competition for the highly sought-after prospect, with Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and Liverpool also keeping close watch on his meteoric development.
The 19-year-old sensation at the center of Barcelona’s interest is Fulham midfielder Josh King, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
A product of Craven Cottage’s youth academy, the England U-21 international has taken major strides in his development, racking up over 50 first-team appearances and asserting himself as a vital cog in Fulham’s setup.
Barcelona’s sporting directors view King as a player with significant potential to thrive in a high-possession setup, praising his technical composition, press resistance, and tactical intelligence under pressure.
From Barcelona’s perspective, pursuing King represents a long-term investment in world-class midfield talent.
Hansi Flick and the club’s technical hierarchy are eager to continuously inject youth and dynamic energy into their central ranks.
However, Fulham’s €60 million valuation poses a substantial obstacle for the Catalan side.
While Barcelona count on the immense prestige of La Liga to entice young European stars, navigating their tight financial parameters will require strategic maneuvering if they hope to convert their scouting missions into an official offer.
Meanwhile, the threat of a bidding war looms heavily as Chelsea and Liverpool continue to monitor the situation.
Both English giants possess the financial muscle to meet Fulham’s asking price without hesitation, creating a high-stakes transfer battle across domestic and continental fronts.
As the transfer windows approach, Barcelona must determine whether to launch a concrete bid for King or risk losing one of England’s premier midfield prodigies to rival suitors.
