Barcelona are ready to challenge for the signature of a €30 million Crystal Palace defender, with the player now firmly on the club’s radar.

Catalan sporting director Deco and head coach Hansi Flick have been actively analyzing squad options to provide specialized depth along the defensive flank.

While Jules Kounde has remained a dependable option, Barcelona’s technical staff are keen on adding a relentless, physically dominant, and tactically versatile full-back who can seamlessly transition between defensive duties and high-tempo attacking overlaps.

Barcelona have reactivated contacts to gauge the feasibility of bringing the South American standout to Spotify Camp Nou.

The highly coveted Selhurst Park star at the heart of Barcelona’s transfer push is 30-year-old Colombian international Daniel Muñoz.

According to a report from Fichajes, Barcelona are willing to table a proposal in the region of €30 million (£26 million) to persuade Crystal Palace into sanctioning a deal.

Muñoz, who played an instrumental role in Palace’s memorable domestic and European campaigns under Oliver Glasner, has long caught the attention of Barça scouts due to his extraordinary work rate, tactical discipline, and exceptional athletic endurance along the right wing.

Flick believes that adding Muñoz would unlock significant tactical flexibility for Barcelona’s defensive setup.

Furthermore, Muñoz has previously voiced his admiration for the Blaugrana, making personal terms unlikely to pose an obstacle should the two clubs reach an agreement on the financial structure.

However, finalizing a deal will require careful negotiation, as Crystal Palace hold a commanding position with Muñoz contracted through June 2028.

Oliver Glasner considers the Colombian an indispensable pillar of his tactical system, meaning the Premier League side may push for a higher valuation before considering an exit.

With domestic rivals like Atlético Madrid also monitoring developments closely, Barcelona are eager to accelerate discussions and lock in their target before a competitive bidding war erupts.
