FC Barcelona’s scouting network has zeroed in on a dazzling Dinamo Zagreb talent, poised to bolster their attack.

The Blaugrana, navigating financial constraints, have leaned heavily on La Masia while scouting global prospects to sustain their dominance.

With injuries to Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski testing squad depth, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco is meticulously planning for 2026, targeting a young star whose flair could complement their attack alongside recent loan acquisitions.

According to the EPL index, the talent is Cardoso Varela, a 16-year-old Portuguese winger from Dinamo Zagreb who has caught Barcelona’s eye.

Formerly of Porto’s academy, Varela debuted for Dinamo’s senior team and has shone for Portugal’s youth sides, showcasing dribbling and pace.

Valued at £5m, his contract until 2028 complicates negotiations, but his prior visit to Ciutat Esportiva and ties to Deco via agent Andy Bara—who represents Olmo—strengthen Barcelona’s position.

Any move, however, hinges on resolving another transfer saga.

Barcelona’s focus is partly tied to their loan star from Manchester United, whose eight goal contributions this season have prompted talks of a £30m permanent deal.

Deco is assessing whether this move aligns with financial fair play, delaying a formal offer for Varela.

The teenager’s versatility as a winger fits Flick’s high-pressing system, potentially joining Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres in a dynamic frontline.

His development mirrors La Masia gems like Pau Cubarsí, making him a strategic long-term investment.

As Barcelona prepares for Girona and El Clasico, Varela’s potential arrival signals their commitment to youth-driven success.

Dinamo’s reputation for producing talents like Josko Gvardiol makes Varela a calculated gamble, but his integration would require careful planning amid a packed schedule.

With Joan Laporta eyeing a Camp Nou return in November, securing Varela could bolster Barcelona’s future attack, blending Croatian flair with Catalan tradition in their quest for sustained glory.
